Activities in Quarantine

Now that we have gotten over the initial feelings of being quarantined in my last post-https://scarletshealthandwellness.com/the-fear-of-facing-quarantine/. It is time to get those creative juices flowing and on the road to planning some activities to keep you busy and productive. The benefits of being in this predicament: you and your family are safe and there are no rigid time schedules that require you to travel to and from work/school.

So to make this a positive experience I will share some options that may be appealing to you or help you think of other activities you would enjoy or benefit from. Remember it is all about what brings joy to you.

Do a puzzle

Whether you like jigsaw puzzles or crossword puzzles the choice is up to you. The best part about this activity is that it leaves you feeling like you have accomplished something when you’re done. That’s a natural high we all could use.

Watch Television

A lot of us have not been able to see our favorite shows due to work or other required obligations. Now is the perfect time to catch up on your favorite shows. Sit back relax and enjoy, you deserve it.

Leave Something New

Many times we wish we know how to do something or develop an interest in a topic but don’t have the time to sit down and learn more about it. Well now is the time. there are many computer applications like Udemy and Udacity that offer courses at affordable rates and you can learn at your own pace. It’s convenient and there is no reason you shouldn’t do it. So go learn something new, you will not regret it.

Read A Novel

If you are an avid reader like I am and have been slacking on your reading due to other responsibilities now is the time to catch up. I have been and it’s so relaxing to sit and read without worrying about outside issues and burdens. It captures your mind, even if for a little while bringing your mind out of focusing on being quarantined.

Pamper Yourself

There are billions f recipes and videos on ways to pamper yourself on google and Youtube. Find one you like and enjoy some “Me” time.

Reach Out to Others

Just because we are under quarantine doesn’t mean you can not communicate with family and friends. You just have to use different ways like social media, video chat, texting or telephone. Basically you are never alone. So reach out when you start to feel this way and see just how much you are loved.

I hope these ideas have helped you see how you can turn a not so comfortable situation into one you can deal with and benefit from. The best part is it didn’t require any complex ideas to plan activities that you enjoy.
