5 Healthy Foods to Fight Cravings

Have you ever had the strong urge for a snack and just couldn’t ignore this deep feeling of want? Then you give in to that urge and later regret it. Many of us face this situation daily. There are so many things that can tip off your yearning from stress to boredom. Well, now its time to make a change in our lives and instead of denying these urges feed into it with healthier snacks that are not only delicious but good for your body.

Also make some changes that would be beneficial in this fight like increasing your water intake, sticking to a schedule for meals and finding alternatives to replace the junk food that you normally turn to for comfort. For me my biggest craving was sugar and my number one snack was ice cream. Eating ice cream always cheered up a day that just totally went wrong and it was just so satisfying to me. However I noticed after I’d eat the ice cream I’d feel so bloated and sleepy. It was like I’d took a sleeping pill. The after effects were totally not helpful to me, I had things to do and had to literally drag myself through these chores and tasks. So once I realized the disadvantages outweighed the benefits I went on a journey to find a replacement for ice cream. So I tried frozen yogurt and it took some time to find what I liked, but eventually I found it. This little change made my snacking urges better because when I enjoyed a bit of frozen yogurt I could follow up and complete any tasks or chores without feeling weighed down and uncomfortable.

To help you make some gradual changes in your diet here are some great snack choices you can use. Don’t overwhelm yourself and try to make big changes in a small amount of time. That will only lead you to frustration and failure. Also feel free to come up with choices of your own and don’t be afraid to try new foods. You never now what you may like until you’ve tried it.
